First-year player TreVeyon Henderson has scored five touchdowns in the present year

New England equaled their top unbeaten stretch since the Brady period as they beat division opponents the Jets 27-14 in professional football

First-year standout Henderson was the standout with three scores as the Patriots claimed an eight-game winning streak for the first time since iconic QB Tom Brady's last year with the team in the 2019 season

QB Maye accumulated 281 passing yards and a score, completing 25 of 34 passes

The triumph extends the Patriots advantage at the top of the division as they moved to nine wins and two defeats, with the Jets at the foot after slipping to two victories and eight defeats

The Jets had taken the lead at Foxborough with QB Fields running in a short rushing score to conclude the Jets' opening drive

But the Patriots fought back in the second quarter as Henderson scored two seven-yard touchdowns before the running back hauled in a throw from Drake Maye at the back of the end zone midway through the third quarter to push the score to 21-7

"It was a big time for him delivering, and it's been great for him to keep getting these reps," the quarterback commented on Henderson. "He wants to be excellent."

Fields connected with John Metchie late in the third quarter to narrow the deficit for the visitors but Borregales kicked a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter as the Patriots closed out the victory
