Both Senior Officers Instants Before the Aggressor Got Stunned

A senior officer who jumped to the assistance of a colleague who was ambushed by a knifeman received the Royal Recognition for Valor.

Sgt Tim Ansell struggled against 27-year-old Jacob Brown subsequent to he pressed a blade to the neck of his partner Sergeant Marc Foster.

He collided with the officer who tripped and dropped to the street, before Sgt Ansell stepped in and attempted to subdue him to the floor although being repeatedly struck with the blade.

Police Constable Wolstencroft pulled his stun gun and sought a safe opportunity, ending the confrontation to an conclusion.

Sergeant Ansell was heard stating: "I need something on my neck here, I got knifed in the neck."

Sergeant Ansell received multiple open wounds to his throat and further cuts to his limbs and torso, while Sergeant Foster received knife wounds.

The department said Sgt Foster utilized his palms to stem his fellow officer's blood loss prior to emergency responders reached the scene.

The new honor arrives subsequent to the law enforcement team were granted departmental Valor Recognitions in October 2023 and the prestigious bravery honor from the regional union branch in April 2024.

They further earned a North West Valor Recognition in July 2024.

"The responses of each policeman eventually saved one another and resulted in no members of the public experienced any harm."

Brown was sentenced to an psychiatric detention in early 2024, according to the department.
